Emberville Controller Support Guide: Gamepad Setup & Status
Guide to controller support in Emberville: full combat navigation, gamepad bug fixes, and experimental keyboard-only menus.

Controller input has been integrated for both active combat and menu navigation in Emberville.
Launch Controller Capabilities and Limitations
Controller support will be available at Early Access launch, including combat and menu navigation. The Steam store page lists Partial Controller Support, DualShock Controller Support, and DualSense Controller Support. The studio stated that the controller experience has not yet reached its intended quality level. An on-screen keyboard will not be available initially, and further improvements are planned for the first update.
Demo Gamepad Patches and Fixes
The developers resolved multiple controller bugs during Steam Next Fest testing:
- In update 0.20.17.x, developers fixed a bug that prevented clothing color selection when using the controller.
- In update 0.20.18.x, developers fixed a bug that prevented the controller L/R (shoulder buttons) from working properly in some menus.
- Patch 0.20.18.x fixed some UI navigation issues with the controller/gamepad.
- Patch 0.20.18.x fixed a bug that prevented the controller from working properly in the main menu after creating a new character.
- Patch 0.20.18.x fixed a bug that allowed the controller radial menu to open at unwanted moments.
Experimental Keyboard-Only Navigation
For players who prefer navigating without mouse inputs, the developers introduced dedicated keyboard handling. The developers added support for navigating menus using only the keyboard, noting that the feature is experimental and may present bugs. Further controller refinements remain scheduled for the first major update following launch.
