Changelog for Emberville Demo Alpha 0.20.18.x fixing controller shoulder buttons, attack rate calculation, and language issues.

The second demo patch was released during Steam Next Fest on October 22, 2026, following player feedback and bug reporting.

Combat

  • Fixed some issues related to attack rate calculation.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed items to be consumed during dialogue interactions.
  • Removed a boss corpse collider to prevent players from getting stuck in the boss nest (temporary solution).

Controller and Input

  • Fixed a bug that prevented the controller L/R (shoulder buttons) from working properly in some menus.
  • Fixed some UI navigation issues with the controller/gamepad.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the controller from working properly in the main menu after creating a new character.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed the controller radial menu to open at unwanted moments.
  • Added experimental support for navigating menus using only the keyboard, though this feature may present bugs.

Language and Localization

  • Fixed some localization issues.
  • Fixed the text in some languages.

Crafting

  • Fixed a bug that prevented the action button from being used to collect crafted items in the crafting menu.
  • Fixed a bug related to crafting stations.

Interface and Visuals

  • Added new icons for all Armor Masteries.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented music from playing in the main menu.
  • Fixed a bug related to cutscenes.

System and Stability

Known Issues

  • Long loading time in some setups.
  • Inability to change language in some setups.

Language Reset Workaround

For players unable to change language settings, the developers provided a numbered workaround to reset configurations:

  1. Navigate to the local save folder: AppData\LocalLow\CygnusCross\Emberville\Saves\.
  2. Delete the configuration file options.eopt to return the game to default configurations.
  3. The developers note that deleting only this file does not erase save data, but advise players not to delete anything else in this folder.
